THE BREAKFAST CLUB

After watching The Breakfast Club please answer these questions on your blog using complete sentences. This task must be completed in class.

Write a sentence about each of the five student characters.


Brian: Brian is the class nerd who has been put under a-lot of pressure by his family which has led to an attempted suicide.

John: John the baboy has suffered psychopathic abuse by his family and has suffered physical abuse by his family, he is a very troubled young man.

Andrew: Andrew is the jock, he is always living up to his father expectations and doing as his father wants.

Claire: Claire is an apparent beautiful women who is still a virgin but would like to lose it and is a boy tease.

Alice: Alice is a freak who is VERY open and anti-social and is an compulsive liar.


How do the students feel about each other at the start of the film? How and why does this change?

The student feel uneasy about each other, this changes because they realise they are not all that different and they because friends.

List some of the themes of The Breakfast Club and explain how they are similar or different from other teen movies you have seen.
Some of the themes used in this film are: Drugs, School, Sex, Insecurity, Abuse, Parental pressure and Punishment.

How has the filmmaker used stereotyping to tell the story?
The film maker has used stereotyping by using 5 distinct stereotypes as the main characters.  

List the ways the filmmakers have demonstrated the types of relationships that these characters have with their parents and other authority figures.
Some of the relationships are such as: Physical abuse, pressure, Assault and spoilt
  
What audience is the film intended to appeal to and why?
This film is made to appeal teenages because it is related to out lives at school and between families.
Explain why this film appeals to you.
This film appeals to me because i can relate to it in some way and other can too.

POST 3 - Post Production

The overall film looks shit, it has alright sound effects and good credits. Post Production is finished and went alright. Next time we do the Post Production i would add more sound effects make it more real.

POST 2 - Production

My part in the film was Camera man and Director, i didn't do my part good at all :) next time i'm going to work on it!. As camera man i did all the camera stuff and lighitng and directed the people to there places.

Nothing worked well...everything work shittly..just the way we wanted :)...next we will IMPROVE! =D, the lighting sucked...the cmaera man sucked, the acting sucked, the people sucked and the script sucked.

I would improve everything and not rush it.

POST 1 - Pre Production

We are re-making, The Wizard of OZ!, 4 people are acting in this film there names are, Matthew, Jesse, Jake and Dallyce. The costumes we are using are made of string and tin foil - we didn't end up using them!.

The Wizard of Oz part we are re-making is when dorothy meets everyone - Tin man, Lion and Scarcrow and they start singing to cheer her up.

We are doing the wizard of oz, the people in my group are, Jesse, Jake and Will, I am playing the role of the chick, Jesse is the lion, Jake is the scarecrow and Will is the Tin man. We have started filming as of today.

FERRIS BUELLER'S DAY OFF
After watching Ferris Bueller's Day Off please answer these questions using complete sentences. This task must be completed in class.

1. What is the genre of teen film?
The genre of this film is Comady

2. What films have you watched that fit into this genre?
Meet Dave, Rush Hour, Big Momma's house, Badboys, Shawn of the Dead, Hot Fuzz

3. What year was this film made? What is it about this film that clearly
indicates the time of the film?
The movies was made in 1986, this is clearly indicated by the phones, clothes and cars.

4. List and briefly describe each of the main characters. What is each characters goal? Who do they like/dislike and how does their character develop through out the text?

Ferris Bueller: He is a tricky but harmless Lier. But he knows how to have fun, which is exactly what he sets out to do when he fakes an illness and talks his parents into letting him stay home from school. Ferris and his friends make the most of their day off.

Jeanie Bueller: Ferris's sister, Jeanie, is determined to prove that Ferris is faking sick and make him pay for it.

Ed Rooney, is sure that Ferris is pulling a sicky and is determined to catch him anyway he can.

Cameron Frye: Ferris's best mate, he is a good guy who hates his father, in the end he decides enough is enough and destroys his fathers car.

Sloane Petterson: Ferris's girl, she is maddly inlove with Ferris and they want to get married, they have a whole lot of fun and she sticks her back out for them alot.

Tom Bueller: Ferris's father, he loves Ferris too much and could never not beleive him.
Katie Bueller: Ferris's mother, she loves him very much and doesn't beleive that his is lieing.

Secretary: Ed Rooneys Secretary.

Ferris Bueller fakes sick to his parents to get a day off school. His best friend, who is home 'sick', helps Ferris get his girlfriend out of school and they have a day in the city.

7. What kind of relationship does Ferris and Jeanie have with their parents?
Ferris's parents will beleive him over anything, unlike his sister they never beleive her.

8. List some of the themes of Ferris Bueller's Day Off and explain how they are similar or different from other teen movies you have seen.
I think the themes are unrealistic, i really don't know how to explain it.

9. What audience is the film intended to appeal to and why?
The film is intended to appeal teenages, because it is a teenage movie and it is very funny.

10. Write a film review for this text.
Ferris Bueller is a popular high school student living in Chicago. After convincing his parents that he is truly sick, Ferris calls on his friend Cameron to join him for a day from school. Cameron agrees, because it means taking his father's classic red Ferrari. They pick up Ferris's girlfriend head for adventure in downtown Chicago all the while trying to outsmart and outrun Mr. Rooney and his Parents.

I think some of the themes are pretty unrealistic but they are funny. I don't exactully know how to expain it. xD

Teenages because the film is a comady and it has teenage acters in a teenage film.

Week 1 Questions!

QUESTIONS:
1. Why have you picked Media as an elective:

I have picked media as an elective for this semester because it is an awesome elective and it is really fun. I like to watch films and make them so this is the perfect elective for me :).

2. What would you like to achieve by the end of this Semester:

I would like to have made a movie by the end of the semester and/or pass.

3. What is Media:

Media is film making, TV, advertisement anything that uses technology for entertainment. 

4. How much and what media have you consumed this week:

Not a lot i've only listened to a bit of music and watched some TV, i'd say about 20 hours.
