THE BREAKFAST CLUB

After watching The Breakfast Club please answer these questions on your blog using complete sentences. This task must be completed in class.

Write a sentence about each of the five student characters.


Brian: Brian is the class nerd who has been put under a-lot of pressure by his family which has led to an attempted suicide.

John: John the baboy has suffered psychopathic abuse by his family and has suffered physical abuse by his family, he is a very troubled young man.

Andrew: Andrew is the jock, he is always living up to his father expectations and doing as his father wants.

Claire: Claire is an apparent beautiful women who is still a virgin but would like to lose it and is a boy tease.

Alice: Alice is a freak who is VERY open and anti-social and is an compulsive liar.


How do the students feel about each other at the start of the film? How and why does this change?

The student feel uneasy about each other, this changes because they realise they are not all that different and they because friends.

List some of the themes of The Breakfast Club and explain how they are similar or different from other teen movies you have seen.
Some of the themes used in this film are: Drugs, School, Sex, Insecurity, Abuse, Parental pressure and Punishment.

How has the filmmaker used stereotyping to tell the story?
The film maker has used stereotyping by using 5 distinct stereotypes as the main characters.  

List the ways the filmmakers have demonstrated the types of relationships that these characters have with their parents and other authority figures.
Some of the relationships are such as: Physical abuse, pressure, Assault and spoilt
  
What audience is the film intended to appeal to and why?
This film is made to appeal teenages because it is related to out lives at school and between families.
Explain why this film appeals to you.
This film appeals to me because i can relate to it in some way and other can too.
